Please take time to read the following information to ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible.

 

It is the sole responsibility of the person(s) HIRING the equipment to ensure that every possible step is taken to avoid injury to users or damage to the equipment. The Person(s) HIRING the equipment will NOT be covered by our insurers (unless an attendant is also hired), therefore, it is highly recommended that you arrange you own insurance cover. Polzeath Castles and its employees will not be responsible for any loss or damage to persons or property using our equipment. The unit should not be hired by yourself under any circumstances unless you are able and prepared to provide adequate supervision to ensure the following conditions are adhered to at all times.

• The person(s) hiring the equipment is solely responsible for it’s safe use and care.

• A responsible adult must supervise the equipment at all times.

• All our inflatables are designed for use by children of up to 65kgs and should not be used by children over the age of 14 (Not applicable to our range of adult castles)

• No FOOD, DRINK, CHEWING GUM, SHOES, GLASSES, JEWELLERY, BADGES, SHARP OBJECTS, CLOTHING WITH METAL OR OTHER SHARP FASTENINGS SUCH AS STUDS, RIVETS, ZIPS ETC, PETS, TOYS (Except soft toys) or PARTY POPPERS to be allowed on or near the inflatable & all shoes must be removed prior to entering the inflatable(s).

• No FACE PAINTS, COLOURED STREAMERS, CONFETTI, or SILLY STRING to be used either ON or CLOSE to the inflatable(s). Failure to adhere may result in cleaning/ Repair charge. These items cause irreparable damage due to the dyes used. Unfortunately, we are unable to install our inflatables if there is a FACE PAINTER on site, if we arrive and find there is a FACE PAINTER will not install the Inflatable. We will issue a refund minus your deposit.

• NO SMOKING or VAPING on or close to the inflatables/equipment. Cigarette or similar burns are irreparable and we will know if this rule has not been followed.

• In the event that our equipment is damaged beyond repair you will be liable for the full replacement cost which may be in the region of £5000 depending on the Inflatable Hired.

• CLIMBING, HANGING FROM or SITTING ON walls is dangerous & must not be allowed at any time. Always ensure the inflatable IS NOT overcrowded and limit numbers according to the AGE, SIZE and STATURE of children. Avoid LARGE & SMALL children from using activities at the same time as this can lead to accidents. Ensure that children are not playing roughly such as PUSHING, COLLIDING, FIGHTING, WRESTLING, ACROBATICS, SUMMERSAULTS or behaving in a manner likely to cause distress or injury to others.

• Please note each inflatable has different height and occupancy limits – including different occupancy for different heights – which can be found on the manufacturer’s information patch. Please make sure to follow these requirements.

• Ensure that no one with a history of BACK, NECK or HEART complaints uses the equipment. Ensure anyone who is feeling unwell, are not permitted to use any equipment at any time. In the event that someone is injured, remove all other participants from the unit as safely & as smoothly as possible and DO NOT move the individual, leave the inflatables switched on and dial 999 immediately and ensure you report the incident to us immediately via the number provided.

• Ensure that an area of 1 metre around the unit is completely clear and ensure the area in which the castle is to be erected is completely swept of debris & that all washing lines, children’s toys and especially dog droppings, before our team erect the inflatable, there will be a £50 charge should we have to remove this for you. If on collection, our equipment is dirty, there will be an £90 cleaning and disinfecting charge.

• In the event of light rainfall, all inflatables must be cleared of users, Inflatables fitted with a RAINCOVER should be left inflated but NOT USED, Inflatables NOT fitted with a RAINCOVER should be switched off and unplugged immediately. And in the event of heavy rain all inflatables either with or without a rain cover should also be cleared of users and switched off. Any wetness, including bubbling (which is normal) must be dried with a towel before the participants are permitted to use the Inflatable again. Inflatables become very slippery when wet.

• In the event that the bouncy castle inflation device stops working, ensure all users evacuate the inflatable immediately. The most common faults are the fan tipping over or the air vents becoming obstructed by Leaves, Debris & Carrier Bags etc, if this is the case, switch off the fan at the mains and remove the obstruction. If the problem persists, then please call us immediately. In the extremely rare event that the fan overheats, or loses power, switch it off at the mains, then switch it back on again 5 minutes later, and it should restart. If it does not, check the power supply & fuse board. If this fails then please contact us immediately and DO NOT attempt to fix any ELECTRICAL faults yourself.

• It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that there are no underground pipes or cables where the inflatable is going to be sited, we take no responsibility for any damage caused by Securing Pegs.


PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS INFORMATION. Equipment must NOT be used in WET or WINDY weather.

Windy Conditions: This is the most common cause of accidents and as such is the most important rule of all. In the event of winds exceeding 24mph (38km/h, Force 5 Beaufort Scale) including gusts, the unit should be deflated immediately and then re-inflated once the winds subside. Beaufort scale description = Fresh Breeze – Small trees in leaf begin to sway.

A Wind Speed reading will be taken before hand over of the Inflatable.

If the wind is forecasted to exceed this limit or rain is forecasted on the day of your booking, we will offer you to rebook for a different day when the weather improves for no extra charge (within one year of the original booking) or a refund minus your deposit.


You are advised to inspect the equipment before signing this Agreement to ensure you are completely satisfied with its condition position and installation. Once Inflated/Installed we will inspect and take photographs of its condition and position and then ask you to sign this Agreement. We cannot guarantee to return in a reasonable time once we have left the venue.


POPCORN MACHINE:

If hiring our Popcorn Machine without an Attendant / Operator we will supply Readymade Popcorn, under no circumstances is Raw Popcorn to be used – DO NOT use the HEAT & TURN Switches. There is a risk of serious BURN INJURY.

This equipment is intended for use inside or outside only in dry conditions. The Machine is to be returned CLEAN.

No Adults Please: It is with regret that due to recent Health & Safety incidents we have to include this notice within all our hire agreements. We take great pride in our safety standards & will not allow them to be compromised in anyway. All inflatable equipment has an age limit for use, which is stated above. This limit is set in place by the manufactures in order to alleviate stress/strain related problems. If adults do use such equipment, their weight and size will compromise the safety of the inflatable. Unfortunately, it is becoming all too common that adults are still jumping on inflatables whilst they are in the care of the hirer, thus making the possibility of the inflatable being unsafe for the next hirer, - I am sure that you would not wish us to supply you with an unsafe castle for your party. With that in mind the next hirer deserves the same safety standards as you would expect. We do however realize that an adult may from time to time need to access the inflatable to deal with younger children, please keep this to a minimum and spread your weight across the inflatable as much as possible. All our inflatables are put through a rigorous safety test at regular intervals, but if it is found that adults have used the inflatable, then it must be retested to ensure that it is safe for the next person to hire for their children as most of the damage caused by adults is not visible from the outside and usually related to internal stitching problems.

If it is found that adults have used the inflatable whilst it is in your care there will be an initial charge of £120 to have the inflatable inspected and retested, and you will be liable for the full cost of any repairs required due to the misuse and any loss of business whilst the inflatable is out of use. Remember, abuse of such guidance will invalidate any insurance you may have.

Please disregard this section if you are hiring an adult item. Adult items include the inflatable Tiki Bar only at this time.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATIONS:

Photo ID:

When we deliver the equipment to your property we will may require to see and photograph your driving licence (Or another form of photo ID) for security purposes, after the hire period and we have returned your deposit, unless you have given permission for us to keep your details on file for future bookings, we will delete the photograph from our records.

At the time of Booking:

A deposit of £50 is required, this will secure your booking slot and will also serve as a Damage deposit. We will assume where the equipment is to be sited is suitable, safe and secure, please make sure as if, on arrival, we feel that the site is not suitable or the safety of our equipment cannot be guaranteed we will cancel your booking and issue a full refund, minus your deposit and any delivery charge.

The full amount is due 7 days before your booking. If payment has not been received and we have been unable to contact you or resolve the issue your booking will be cancelled and you will lose your deposit.

For Bookings made within 7 days of the Hire Date we will require the full Hire amount together with the Deposit amount.

A delivery charge may be applicable to your booking, please refer to the Delivery Information section of our website as these may change. 

On collection we will inspect the equipment with you and indicate any issues. The Deposit will be will be returned if the equipment is clean and undamaged.

In the event that Polzeath Castles cancels your booking for any reason we will either offer to rebook you on another day at no extra charge or issue a full refund including your deposit. In the event that the HIRER cancels the booking within 7 days of the booking we will issue a refund minus your deposit. For cancellations more than 7-days before the booking, you will be issued a full refund.

DAMAGES:

If the equipment is used correctly damage shouldn’t occur.

Disclaimer: Please note that all persons using this equipment do so at their own risk. It is the sole responsibility of the Person who is hiring this inflatable and has signed this agreement, to ensure that that the Conditions are adhered to at all times and all possible steps are taken to avoid injury or damage to the inflatable and its users. This company and its employees will not be responsible for any loss or damage to persons or property whilst using our equipment. The Inflatable should not be hired by yourself under any circumstances unless adequate supervision can be provided, the terms & conditions listed both above and below must be read & understood

Some Inflatable Hire Companies will imply you are covered by their insurance, this is not the case - no Inflatable Insurance underwriters will provide this level of cover, you will only be covered by our Insurers if you hire an attendant from us (depending

Polzeath Castles does have Public Liability insurance but this only covers our elements of the Hire therefore we strongly advise you to obtain your own Insurance Cover as you, the Hirer, could be held liable for any injuries. We are not responsible for any injuries or damage whilst the Inflatable is out of our control.

OUR PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER YOUR EVENT/PARTY IF WE ARE NOT IN ATTENDANCE


Abuse Towards Staff:

We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding abusive behaviour towards our staff for any reason – if there is a problem this can be solved civilly and respectfully. If you are abusive in any way towards any member of staff, they will pack up your inflatable or other equipment hired and leave the premises - in this instance we will issue a refund minus your deposit and delivery charge as well as blacklist the hirer from our services in the future.
